Welcome to UPLANDS!!

It is hard to believe the rocky hills and stunning shores of Uplands sit square in the center of Nanaimo. It is a fair mix of established homes, new sub divisions and condominiums, many with stunning views of Mt. Benson, and dockside access to the heart of this stunning, rugged area . . . Long Lake. The lake is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, rowing, kayaking, and fishing. Loudon Park and Trail winds around the lake, and is great for short walks, runs, and picnics.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the area is ideal. Many trails snake through nearby Linley Valley/Cottle Lake Park, which also has its own small lake, scenic viewpoints, and picnic areas. Rutherford Ridge, with its 4 different crags, is known for its excellent climbing.

There is plenty of shopping nearby. Country Club Mall boasts over 50 stores, including Save-On-Foods, Best Buy, Shopper's Drug Mart, and JSYK. Nanaimo North Town Centre hems the the west side of Uplands, and is home to Canadian Tire, Lowes, and Galazy Theatre, to name just a few. There are plenty of restaurants, from the elegant Grant Cru Restaurant, some of the city's best sushi at Dami Sushi to all the old staples, including Original Joes, Tim Hortons, and Dominoes.
